EXPERIMENT 5: Build a ´´Teaching Machine´´ |
| THINGS YOU NEED: One or two old tin cans. A piece
of wood about 6 inches by 8 inches. A few small wood
screws. Three 6-volt lantern flashlight bulbs. Three
small sockets. Some thin cardboard. Some insulated
wire. A piece of aluminum foil. A long nail. A crayon
or some paint and a narrow brush. |

You can use this simple “teaching machine” to quiz your friends about Lewis Latimer’s achievements and other subjects. It “asks” a question and then lights up when the correct answer is selected. It also is an excellent demonstration of series circuit operation. Here’s how the machine works: |
