Now try out the parallel circuit. Observe that each switch controls one of the three light bulbs individually you can turn each bulb on or off without affecting the other two. Similarly, if you unscrew one of the bulbs from its socket (pretending it is a burned out bulb) the other two bulbs remain lit. All of the electric lights and appliance outlets in your home are wired in parallel. Can you explain why? As we’ve seen, the answer is so that you can control each light and appliance individually.
